GUIGUISUISUI KOREA TOUR!
This Sunday at Santa Claus Hof!
GUIGUISUISUI 鬼鬼祟祟(a.k.a. Dann Gaymer) combines harmonica, guitar and a
customized skateboard-diddly bo to blast out punk-country and
gutter-blues in a truly DIY style. GUIGUISUISUI draws on the spirit of
Chicago-influenced British blues and blues punk, with lyrics ranging
from cold blooded murder to dancing cats.
GUIGUISUISUI recently
teamed up with Chinese beatboxer HUNTER (a.k.a. He Guang Hai) to record
the album Dongbei Delta. An amalgamation of hip
hop beats and grimy blues and post punk , with a few unplugged tunes
for good measure, the album was recorded with a suitably lo-fi set up in
Changchun, Northeast China.
In support of the album
GUIGUISUISUI is hitting the road to play shows across Asia, including
China, South Korea and Japan (details below).

FAMILY GAME NGHT in support of PARTY WITH A PURPOSE, a local
non-profit organization, which for years has given thousan
ds of dollars and hundreds of hours for battered women's shelters and orphanages within the Daejeon area.
This is a direct charity.
The money is used by those in need.
The Daejeon foreign community drives it.
Hop on board and contribute!
Disappointment in NOT an option!

The Daejeon Foreign Artists Exhibition returns for a second year to Daejeon Ssangli Gallery in Daeheungdong.
The show will feature original work from eleven foreign artists
residing in Daejeon in mediums ranging from painting, photography,
pottery, sculpture, and woodworking.
Sponsors include the Daejeon
International Community Center, The Cantina, Khaosan Road, and Lucky
Strike.
Date and Time: An open reception will be held at Ssangli Gallery from 7-10pm
on October 6th with drinks provided by The Cantina.

Independence Day Extravaganza!!!
Come and join us (Mannam) for a picnic to celebrate USA Independence Day! Share your favorite 4th of July dish. This is a great opportunity to meet new friends. Everyone is invited to listen to good music and eat good food! Lets share the good neighborhood tradition of a block party. (BYOB/Potluck) Pets are welcome.

Gap-Chun River side near the Daejeon Arboreteum and EXPO park. We will meet on the Arboreteum side of the big Red and Blue light bridge. If you are coming from EXPO Park, cross over the bridge and go down the left side.

Day Trip to Daedunsan and Geumsan
Would you like to ride in a cable car and view one of the most beautiful mountains in the Daejeon Area? Come join DICC for the day trip to Daedunsan and the famous Ginseng city area of Guemsan!
Date of the event is June 16th 9am - 5pm
During the trip you will enjoy a breathtaking view of Daedunsan while riding to the summit in a cable car.
After the ride, you will have lunch and then off to the Guemsan area to learn how to make Korean traditional cake (sounds like fun)
The fee is 5,000 won ( you can't beat that price)
If you are interested please meet a little before 9am at the City Hall subway station exit #1
Hurry and sign up! The application deadline is Friday June 8th by 6pm!
Stop by DICC to sign up! They are located across from Daejeon train station on the 4th floor
